Richard has a BFA in painting from a five-year program at the Hartford Art School where he received the Walker Art Award for excellence in painting. Following graduation, he attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA for a year of extended study and began his career in Philadelphia. He has returned to his New England roots where he now lives and is a former member of the Hartford Art School Board of Corporators.
